Lincoln Park Conservatory Maternity: Rabor Family

Family, Maternity, Portraits

I’ve been photographing this beautiful family since Simi was still inside the belly. I’ve known Sam and Stephanie since grad school and it’s such an honor to witness a lot of milestones in their relationship. I was there when they said their I do’s. Shortly thereafter, I got to see them buy their 1st house together. After that, I photographed Steph’s 1st maternity session when she was pregnant with Simi. I took one of my first newborn baby girl sessions when Simi was born. And now, I got to take photos of her adorable bump with baby number 2!

The weather was not our friend that day. We planned to meet at the Chicago Botanic Gardens but the heavy rain made that impossible. Quick change of plans! We headed out to the Lincoln Park Conservatory instead. Ironically, they were watering all the plants and water from the rain was also slowly dripping through the greenhouse’s ceilings! Nevertheless, it was a good place to walk around, still close to nature, pressing the camera shutter, while we all catch up with each other given our busy lives.

Time flies so fast. I can’t believe this little girl, Simi, is walking already! And, she’s about to be a big sister to Baby Sydney. Thank goodness we got over “Stranger Danger” and got a lot cute smiles from her during the session. You can definitely see the excitement from Mommy and Daddy to see Baby Sydney. Simi is at that age where she knows there’s a baby in Mommy’s tummy. She easily points to Mommy’s bump when we ask, “Where’s the baby?” It’ll be so much fun having a playmate around, right, Simi?

We can’t wait to meet Baby Sydney either!

photographer

What started as a childhood hobby evolved into a great passion. Hours after I got engaged, I browsed through dozens of wedding photographers' portfolios and realized I was looking at my dream job. I fell in love with the idea of telling people's stories in images rather than words. It is my utmost goal to make you look back at these memories we create together as if you're experiencing these moments again, nostalgic yet exquisite.
