Kemper Lakes Golf Club Wedding: Rachel & Jake

Weddings

“You can go get her now”, said the officiant to Jake. Jake quickly walked towards Rachel, being escorted by her father. He released a big nervous sigh. He gave Rachel’s father a hug and put his right hand to cover eyes, trying to make sense of the overwhelming emotions he’s having, as he took his bride’s hand. His bride was smiling a ton, confused as to why her usually composed man, has now displayed vulnerability in front of their friends and families. It was amusing but admirable to witness. And that was only one of the many highlights of this fun and love-filled rustic wedding day for this beautiful couple.

Words cannot describe how much fun this wedding was. The bridal party were so easy to work with. Laughter filled the air. Jake insisted on doing a “sorority pose”. “I did not agree to this!”, says one of the gentlemen, but they all did it anyway. The bridesmaids’ gorgeous braids and glamorous makeup really enhanced their beauty, especially with their gleaming smiles. Rachel walked out of her hotel room in this exquisite dress that her mother had sewn herself for her only daughter. Happy tears ran down her bridesmaids’ cheeks.

The wedding theme was rustic. The ladies were wearing flowy wine-colored dresses and the gentlemen were wearing grey suits. The florals made up of a romantic “chaos”, with blends of white, ivory, blush, red, succulents and greeneries. The centerpieces really brought out the rustic ambience of Kemper Lakes Golf Club with water-filled transparent glass vessels with floating candles and red rose petals, attached to irregularly-shaped log base, accented with succulents and loose rose petals. It was pure beauty.

It was more than 90-degrees with the added humidity. Everything, except for the reception, was held in the outdoor grounds of the golf club. Two majestic willow trees served as our couple’s backdrop for their first look and for their simple ceremony. Despite the mosquitoes and the sticky air, Rachel, Jake, their families and closest friends stuck through with it. Their energy level just got higher in fact, during the reception. Everyone was surely having a great time. Nonstop loud cheers. People bust out laughing. Guests of all ages are bringing their best moves to the dance floor. There’s even a video circling around of Rachel doing “The Floss” challenge with this adorable little boy!

There are many more that I can say about this wedding but no words can utter how much love and joy Rachel and Jake probably felt that Saturday. All we can do now is show you some photos that highlight their big day!
