It was so hard NOT to smile, and bust out laughing, while processing these photos. Jon and Suzie cracked us up the entire session. From the day we sat down for a consultation, they made it known they don’t really take a lot of photos. They were probably anxious about their engagement session. To be honest, they had no reason to. Their goofy personalities took over and it was such a joy photographing it. They specifically asked for the “bloopers” in their gallery. We had TONS of those! Having their Dalmatian, Riley, there was the cherry on top! “Riley, be cute!”, says my husband, Erick, trying to get his attention – one of my favorite phrases that day.

Jon and Suzie met through mutual friends and had their first date at a dive bar. Nothing fancy. Very casual. Very fitting for both of their super chill personalities. They enjoy the simplicities of life. They go out fishing, hunting, grabbing drinks with their friends and watching their favorite Wisconsin sports teams like the Packers and the Brewers. It’s a very relaxed and easy relationship. What they probably didn’t realize is that they found something extraordinary out of the ordinary – true love.

The closer we get to their wedding day in September, the more I get to know them. I came across their proposal video on Facebook! (Thank you for sharing Suzie!). I replayed this at least 3 times. A year after they closed on their home, they went to Board & Brush, a place to make your own DIY wood sign.  Jon had it all planned where the ladies at Board & Brush made a special sign for him. He arranged things so their friends will be around to take photos of what he was about to do. At the “picture-taking” stage, they swapped his own sign with the special one and this magic happened.
