Gillson Park Family Portraits: The Tain Family

Family, Portraits

This is one honest blog entry of what a family session may turn out like. Jim and Tiffany just got done posing for us, for hours, for a beautiful project we came up with. (You probably have seen some of those teasers!). Tiffany’s parents dropped off Lucas and Riley, Tiffany and Jim’s beautiful kids, so we can all head out to Gillson Park. The van pulls up. Tiffany grabs their outfits from her bag and walked towards the car excited to get her kids ready for the session. She opens the car door and suddenly, her arms drop to her sides. “Oh my God, they’re both asleep”, she says. They played all afternoon and dozed off en route to us! As you may have predicted, this did not bode well for their session!

We got to Gillson Park. Multiple cars parked blocks away. We converged at a park bench. Jim and Tiffany were taking turns trying to wake up Lucas and Riley. If you’re a parent, you can probably imagine the horror of waking your children up from a nap! We felt sooooo bad. But, we were all determined to take some photos before the sunlight starts to disappear. Tiffany have always been into taking photos early on, and the kids have gotten a LOT of practice smiling for the cameras. A few bribes here and there, and we actually captured some beautiful smiles! It wasn’t so bad after all! Whew!

Jim and Tiffany are close to celebrating 11 years of blissful marriage. Being blessed with two beautiful, super active and witty children, Lucas and Riley is what makes it even more wonderful. No family is perfect but each one is a unique gem to forever treasure. Thank you for allowing us to capture these wonderful moments of your family! This is indeed one “Happily Ever After.”

We cannot wait until we get to work with you guys again!

What started as a childhood hobby evolved into a great passion. Hours after I got engaged, I browsed through dozens of wedding photographers' portfolios and realized I was looking at my dream job. I fell in love with the idea of telling people's stories in images rather than words. It is my utmost goal to make you look back at these memories we create together as if you're experiencing these moments again, nostalgic yet exquisite.
