Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve Engagement: Brian & Sara

Engagements

It was chilly winter but Brian and Sara were up for a waterfall engagement session at the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve. They brought their super cute Samoyed, named Jinx and boy I can just snuggle with this cutie all day!

Back to our gorgeous couple. Brian and Sara found me through TheKnot. When we first met them for a booking consultation, we immediately knew we were going to work really well together! It was such a pleasure to have gotten to know their story before we even formalized that they were going to be an MZP couple!

Brian and Sara met in college at an anime club. They’ve been together since 2014! She loves his selflessness, his unwavering support in her life goals and the fact that he treats other people around them well. He loves her caring and determined attitude and her efforts to keep him in line if things need to get done! She knew he was the one when he didn’t leave her during a tough time in her life. He made sure he called her every night and stayed on the phone to help her fall asleep. He knew she was the one because it’s never draining being around her. They don’t always need to be talking to each other but when they hang out, it’s always easy and fun. They bond through video games and watching TV shows and daytime dramas.

When asked how the proposal happened, we were all ears! They were on vacation in Colorado to see if it was a place they wanted to live. While there, they had signed up to go on a hot air balloon ride as it was on Sara’s bucket list. They took off at sunrise in Colorado Springs with the Garden of the Gods in the background. Brian proposed while having the Captain take photos. He kept taking photos right away so they had to have him take three. Sara basically knew by that time. This Captain could have been more discreet but hey, a hot air balloon ride proposal is quite an exciting experience in itself!

Wishing this couple lots of good luck as they plan to move to Arizona during their wedding planning process. They do have very supportive families so we’re sure it’ll go without a hitch! Good thing we got this engagement session done before they left though!

What started as a childhood hobby evolved into a great passion. Hours after I got engaged, I browsed through dozens of wedding photographers' portfolios and realized I was looking at my dream job. I fell in love with the idea of telling people's stories in images rather than words. It is my utmost goal to make you look back at these memories we create together as if you're experiencing these moments again, nostalgic yet exquisite.
